Video: How to Conduct a Continuity Test on Fiber Optic Cable

July 19th, 2018

We recommend that you conduct a Continuity Test or VFL – Visual Fault Locator test when you receive your fiber optic cable. That way you can ensure that there are no breaks in the cable upon receipt.

If your fiber optic cable was manufactured by Alliance. it was tested before it left the factory because we test everything 100%. The cables are packed very well to ensure no breakage during transport.

We also recommend doing another quick end-to-end Fiber Optic Continuity Test (Visual Fault Locator) – Ensure fiber end to fiber end continuity exists/is good and make sure port connections/fiber mapping is correct.
